Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb 450g halal ground beef
  • 1 lb 450g halal ground lamb (or use all beef)
  • 2 cups finely shredded potatoes Yukon Gold or Russet
  • 1 cup finely chopped yellow onion
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp ground white pepper
  • ½ tsp ground allspice optional
  • Optional: Halal collagen sausage casings

Instructions
 

  • Shred and drain potatoes – Peel and finely shred. Use a clean towel to remove excess moisture.
  • Mix the ingredients – In a large bowl, combine meats, potatoes, onion, and seasonings. Mix gently.
  • Fill casings (optional) – If using casings, soak and stuff with the mixture, forming 4–5 inch links.
  • Choose your cooking method:
  • Simmering: Cook in simmering water (not boiling) for 45 minutes.
  • Baking: Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40–45 minutes.
  • Pan-fry: Slice and brown over medium heat until golden.
  • Serve with traditional sides like mashed potatoes, lingonberry jam, or pickled vegetables.
