- 1 lb 450g halal ground beef
- 1 lb 450g halal ground lamb (or use all beef)
- 2 cups finely shredded potatoes Yukon Gold or Russet
- 1 cup finely chopped yellow onion
- 2 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp ground white pepper
- ½ tsp ground allspice optional
- Optional: Halal collagen sausage casings
Shred and drain potatoes – Peel and finely shred. Use a clean towel to remove excess moisture.
Mix the ingredients – In a large bowl, combine meats, potatoes, onion, and seasonings. Mix gently.
Fill casings (optional) – If using casings, soak and stuff with the mixture, forming 4–5 inch links.
Choose your cooking method:
Simmering: Cook in simmering water (not boiling) for 45 minutes.
Baking: Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40–45 minutes.
Pan-fry: Slice and brown over medium heat until golden.
