Brownie Layer:
- ½ cup 115g unsalted butter, melted
- ¾ cup 150g brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup 40g unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup 65g all-purpose flour
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
Cookie Layer:
- ½ cup 115g softened butter
- ½ cup 100g white sugar
- ½ cup 100g brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1¼ cups 160g all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¾ cup 100g chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8" pan with parchment paper.
Make the brownie batter by whisking melted butter, sugar, eggs, cocoa, and vanilla. Stir in dry ingredients.
Make the cookie dough by creaming butter and sugars, adding egg and vanilla, then flour and chocolate chips.
Spread brownie batter in the pan. Drop cookie dough on top and spread gently.
Bake for 25–30 minutes or until set with moist crumbs.
Cool completely before slicing.
